gallery ordering/sorting

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Well, it’s been quiet on the front end, although there’s been a lot of stuff going on on the back end. We’ve been working on bulk loading (hasn’t it been forever?), tighter security on the copy postlets function, streamlining the page loading, and more.

So after all this stuff that everybody doesn’t really see, I’m glad to be able to say we finally have a little something to show: ordering/sorting of postlets in your Galleries. Yep, you can now order by a specific attribute. For example, if you select 2+ bedrooms for real estate, you can also order by bedrooms so properties with 2 bedrooms will show up first, and then 3 bedrooms, and so on. It took a while because there’s actually quite a bit of code that makes up this simple task. Whew!

As always, thanks for being patient with all the development we have on our plates. And we’ll be bringing out a lot more.

duplicate your postlets

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Along with all the other things you can do on your “my postlets” page, such as activating, drafting, and renewing your postlets, you can now copy your postlets. So, let’s say you have a property somewhere and another house you’re selling is pretty similar, maybe it’s in the same master planned community and has the same amenities and everything. Instead of starting from scratch, you can copy that postlet and then just modify the copy with any differences.

In the same way that you do the other actions, simply check the checkbox next to the postlet you want to copy, select “Copy (first only)” from the drop down list, and then click Go. Why the “first only” verbiage? Because we only allow copying of one postlet at a time, so even if you check a bunch of postlets, only the first one from the top will be copied.

We’re still experimenting with this feature, but we want to provide ways to create your postlets even more easily.
