support

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

As I’m sitting here at 2:25am (which isn’t too uncommon for me at all) working on a few things, I just responded to a support email that I got at 1:58am. And I thought to myself, I’m glad I was able to do that. A free service (postlets, in case you weren’t sure :) ), and we’re able to provide support for our users like that: a reply within 20 minutes… at 2 in the morning. And if you’ve ever written to us on Saturday or Sunday as well, you know we respond over the weekend too. And you’ll get personal responses, not some crappy form letter, each one personally typed by one of us. People shouldn’t have to wait hours or days for a response only to get back some lame form letter, nope.

Anyway, this isn’t a plea for appreciation or sympathy or whatever, just wanted to let everybody know we’re here to try our best to help everybody out. (FYI, we do find time to sleep though.)

anti-spam: captcha

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

To protect our users even more from that most dreaded of internet afflictions — email spam — we’ve integrated a challenge-response feature for when visitors want to contact our users while perusing the postlets.

It’s called CAPTCHA, and even if you don’t recognize the name I’m sure you’ve seen it before. It consists of an image with numbers or letters that must be typed into a textbox to confirm the visitor is a person and not a spambot. We’ve added this to all postlets. While we’re working on additional aesthetic features of postlets, we’re also working to keep everybody safe and secure.

updating photo descriptions

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

In conjunction with our new postlets minis, which include slideshows of your photos along with photo descriptions, we know people wanted to be able to edit/update their photo descriptions afterward, but weren’t able to. Well, now you can. Give it a try. :)

“postlets mini”

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

As I mentioned yesterday, we plan on rolling out some new stuff this week. And today we’re rolling out “postlet mini” (really minis since there are three different sizes).

What is a postlet mini? It’s a mini widget version of your main postlet. We supply the code and you paste it anywhere you want: in your real estate blog, on your social network pages, on your personal homepage, wherever. When people click on the mini, which includes a slideshow of your photos, it takes them right to your full-fledged, full-size postlet.

As always, let us know what you think. Things you like, things you don’t. We want to make this a product you really want to use.

sorry for the lack of updates

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Hi everybody, sorry we haven’t written to you guys in a while. I (Ray) was out of the country for a couple weeks and then I’ve been fighting the flu and other bad symptoms for a few weeks now which was making it hard to do work that required any sort of logical brain functions (read: couldn’t code).

But we’ve been doing some design changes, tightening up the system a little here and there, but not really much to blog about; nothing really big. But we’re hoping to roll out more stuff very soon, like this week.

Hope everybody is doing well and enjoying the service!
